Now that you have selected your color theme, here is what you will need.
Materials:
- Recycled glass bottles
- Paint (you can use glass paint, bottled craft water-based paint or anything that is recommended by your local craft store.)
- Plastic syringe
- Vase liners
Directions:
- Gather up a bunch of vases. Different sizes and shapes work best for this project.
- Select your paint colors. One way to save money is to buy a few colors of paint and then custom mix them to various shades. This way you will get more colors for less money and they will also be in the same family of tones so the set will look harmonious but not matchy-matchy.
- Once you have your first color mixed, select your first bottle and use your syringe to suck up a good amount of paint. Inject the paint into your bottle and just keep swishing it around until the inside of the bottle is fully coated. Like so:
- Leave the bottle somewhere upside down so that all excess paint can drain and then clean off the edges.
- Continue this process with the rest of the bottles and the rest of the colors leaving each one upside down.
- Now let them dry. This may take a couple days till they are fully dry since there is not much air circulating in the bottle. Be patient!
Don’t forget that you have a water-based paint in there so do not fill the vases with water until you have used a vase-liner first.
Enjoy these beautiful bottles!!
