Find Out The Secret To Removing Rust! (It’s NOT Aluminum Foil!)

You may have known that scrubbing the rust off with aluminum foil is a valid method.  And it IS!  If you have a bit of rust and you have the foil on hand, scrub away!

But if you have something with more than a bit of rust or a larger space, here is your method:

Materials:

Old Rag
Bar Keeper’s Friend
Gloves are suggested

According to rainonatinroof:

Directions:

Step 1:

Dampen the rag and shake a little Bar Keeper’s Friend onto it.

Rub the rag together to create a sort of paste.

Step 2:

Scrub down any areas with rust.

As you scrub, you will see your rag start to turn brownish-red from the rust that is coming off. Stop every once in a while, rinse the rag out and repeat the scrubbing process.

Step 3:

After you have removed all the rust, wipe the areas you cleaned down with a clean, wet rag, followed by a dry rag to avoid water marks.

I spent about an hour removing rust from this chair, however I will say it was well worth it.
