Here is what you will need:
- Dresser
- TSP for cleaning
- Exterior paint
- Heavy duty garbage bags
- painter’s tape
- bricks
- soil
- plants
Here is how:
1. Clean the dresser with TSP.
2. Paint it with two coats of outdoor paint of your choice. (The one in the image has a chalkboard paint bird painted on it, too. Nice touch.)
3. Line the drawers with plastic garbage bags. Attach them with painter’s tape. Like so:
4. Punch holes in the plastic and through the drawer for drainage.
5. Put a few bricks in the back of each drawer so that the dresser won’t tip over. (Maybe 3 in each drawer/more or less depending on the size of your dresser.)
6. Fill the drawers with dirt and plant what you love!
Voila! When the plants grow in, it just looks amazing.

Thank you to eclecticallyvintage for this awesome tutorial.
I had one like this on our deck in Melrose.
