Have you ever considered planting an edible garden in rain gutters? Probably not.
Take a look at this:
This genius gardner simply hung the rain gutters on an outside wall–at a slight angle to allow for drainage–and now has all her veggies right outside!
You do not have to get complicated about this. Planting like this significantly helps to keep any roaming animals off your edibles and also to keep slugs from reaching your plants. It is a good idea to drill some holes so that water drainage can hit the plants below.
Here is a good video from Lowe’s that will instruct you how to build a frame to hang the gutters but as I said, don’t overcomplicate this. it can be as simple as you want it to be.
If you don’t want to plant an edible garden but still like the idea of using the gutters, you can plant succulents or any other plant of your choice, as well. Lay it along a window sill. So pretty!
