I Thought It Was Crazy To Pour An Expensive Bottle of Wine Over A Ball Of Saran Wrap But It Was Exactly The Right Thing To Do!

Fortunately, Saran Wrap soaks up TCA like a sponge, especially if the scent is mild.

You can still enjoy that bottle of wine, so don’t toss it down the drain!

Here is what you do instead:

1. Put a square foot of saran wrap balled up into a pitcher.
2. Decant the wine by pouring the whole bottle in the pitcher right over the plastic wrap.
3. Let it sit and swirl it around so that all the wine gets exposed to the plastic.  5-10 minutes should do.  (If the smell is really bad you may need to repeat the process with a second piece of plastic.)
4. When the smell is gone, taste the wine and if it seems to have no more TCA smell, it’s ready to drink.
5. Decant it into another container and serve!
