It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

I’d Never Seen Anyone Cut Up A Tee Like This Before…But She’s A Genius!

All you need to do this is a t-shirt (oversized and longer works best), scissors and although she does run this through her sewing machine, you could use fabric glue instead and no one would be the wiser.

First you will cut the shirt like so:

According to girlinthegarage:

I flipped the pieces so that the “good” sides (outside of shirt) were facing each other and then ran my sewing machine across the top and bottom edges.  The longer edges are left unfinished just like the store-bought scarf I used as inspiration.

Finished product looks like this!

Speaking of cutting up clothes, do you know how to make beanie out of an old sweater?  This is so fun and easy to do.

What is your favorite way to upcycle a t-shirt?

Thank you to girlinthegarage for this great tip!  See her site for more images and deets on this fun project.
