It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

If Your Kids Can Braid, They Can Upgrade Their Shoes!

This is a simple DIY and all you need is some woven fabric (mixing two or more colors is best) and a pair of lace up sneakers.

Directions:

  1. Cut the fabric into 3/8″ strips.  All the way from one end to the other.
  2. Once you have 3 strips, knot them together and then tape them to a tabletop so that you can pull them taught as you braid them. Make the laces as long as you need.  (Use your old laces for a gauge.)
  3. Lace the unknotted end through the lace grommets.  You may need to wrap the end with tape to lace it up.
  4. Knot the last end.

So cute!! And great for kids–boys and girls–of all ages.
