You may already be on the almond milk train and if you are, good for you!
But unfortunately, almond milk can contain lots of sugars and also carcinogens such as carrageenan that make even this “healthy” milk substitute not good for you.
What you don’t know is how easy it is to make your own.
- Soak 1 cup of RAW almonds in filtered water for at least 8 hours or even overnight. They will plump up and you will see the water become very cloudy.
- Strain the almonds.
- In your blender (or Vitamin-Even better) blend the almonds with about 3.5 cups of fresh filtered water. Blend for 1 minute.
- Strain through a cheesecloth squeezing out as much liquid as possible.
- Sweeten and flavor as desired with organic maple syrup, vanilla, stevia, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. Store in the fridge in an airtight pitcher.
Now that’s a great drink that will save your health and your money!
Here is a great video to walk you through the whole process.
