Open rustic shelving is such a simple DIY that makes a big design impact.
I was at a friend’s house this weekend and I noticed in the kid’s room they had used one long piece of reclaimed wood along the width of the room, about 12 inches from the ceiling, to create a bookshelf. It seriously looked amazing. And it held ALL the books! (Where only mamma could reach them which is very handy when the kids are just old enough to do nothing but tear them off the shelves over and over again.)
