This DIY is quick, easy, fun and cheap. What could be better!?
If you have any windows in your home or apartment where you want the natural light but need a little privacy, this is a truly lovely solution.
Granted, it is a bit feminine but I am wondering how we can use this idea and make it masculine, as well…
Maybe you can think of some ideas as you scroll down the next page…

I bet you could use a curtain instead of lace if you wanted to
love this idea
Good idea!
Awesome
Water based glue, tissue paper and imagination!!!!
found some neat camo printed mesh. That would be awesome in a man cave!
For the male side what about a camo mesh?
but how hard would it be to remove? i rent but i love this idea.
All you have to do is wet it
It isnt hard to remove. Gentle soap and water.
soap and water should take it off
A very cool look!
I was thinking the same
i tried gallery glass before which was pretty easy to remove. i’d like to know how removeable before i try it.
Just re-wet it to remove. The corn starch would release and wash off. Great temporary fix.
You could try it with a small piece maybe a 1″ square before doing the entire window just to be sure.
thanks!
Wow! Great idea!!!
maybe burlap?
This is neat!
thi is cool idea an would be easy clean up whn you wnt to change designes
i like this idea
Easy to remove or change…spray water onto fabric, remove and clean window…
wonder if tulle would work for a boys room, it wouldn’t have the lacy design on it and you can still press it and smooth it .
GREAT IDEA
For a boy you could get fine mesh camo around this time of year. It should work the same as the lace.

It’s just cornstarch. If you want to remove it, just use cold water. It may take a bit of cleaning, but it will come off the window without too much trouble. If your windows develop condensation in the winter, this idea probably will not work because the moisture will cause it to release. Still, I might try this in the bathroom upstairs. Hubby is always opening the blinds to let in the fresh air, but I am always caught unaware as I am preparing to shower! The window faces the street!
For boy’s room you can use burlap
grat idea
Bubble Wrap for men !
love this diea
For boys you could possible find some camouflage mesh.
For a boy’s room you could use cheesecloth or gauze. Maybe even burlap.
Well that’s rather nifty
Very beautiful, but something tells me that it wouldn’t like like that if I did it!
This is awesome going to try it I my gran daughters room.love it, love it ,love it!
cool , for the hunters u could use camo netting instead of lace
Would the glue or corn starch discolor over time???
going to try
don’t they have lace with skulls and stuff on guys could live with that. It would also be perfect for Halloween.
Bet you could do the same technique with liquid starch. Should come off (when you want to remove/change it) with water.
For boys, you could use camouflage netting.

What a great idea!
I have done this process with an old window and its gorgeous…I decorated it with a banner made of hearts and strips of fabric.
The bottom of the post asked about boys’ rooms. I had never thought of using lace. This method works well with paper too, regular paper. Not the thicker card stock, unless you’re using a watered down white glue mix (1:1 ratio). Paper give the sheer look to allow in light, while also giving tons of pattern options ^_^
Cheese Cloth works as well with cornstarch but instead of corn starch you can used Elmer’s Glue with cake color added to the glue for the color desired and paint it on for a frosted look when it dries. Use the washable glue for easy removal.
beautiful , love the idea.
You could add food coloring for a different twist
Any type of mesh shirt would work if you want a masculine look…or a fleur delis.
cool idea for window/mirror for haunted house lol
This would be perfect for bathroom windows where you want light but need privacy … removal should be easy and leave no damage … also would be good for side light windows to keep folks for peaking in… gotta try this one.
