wonder if tulle would work for a boys room, it wouldn’t have the lacy design on it and you can still press it and smooth it .

  13. Loretta says:

For a boy you could get fine mesh camo around this time of year. It should work the same as the lace.

  14. Julia says:

It’s just cornstarch. If you want to remove it, just use cold water. It may take a bit of cleaning, but it will come off the window without too much trouble. If your windows develop condensation in the winter, this idea probably will not work because the moisture will cause it to release. Still, I might try this in the bathroom upstairs. Hubby is always opening the blinds to let in the fresh air, but I am always caught unaware as I am preparing to shower! The window faces the street!

The bottom of the post asked about boys’ rooms. I had never thought of using lace. This method works well with paper too, regular paper. Not the thicker card stock, unless you’re using a watered down white glue mix (1:1 ratio). Paper give the sheer look to allow in light, while also giving tons of pattern options ^_^

  29. Cheese Cloth works as well with cornstarch but instead of corn starch you can used Elmer’s Glue with cake color added to the glue for the color desired and paint it on for a frosted look when it dries. Use the washable glue for easy removal.

This would be perfect for bathroom windows where you want light but need privacy … removal should be easy and leave no damage … also would be good for side light windows to keep folks for peaking in… gotta try this one.
