  1. I wondered the same. I would like this on my bathroom window, but worry about the steam from the shower. Will that make this come loose?

You can also do this using Aleene’s white glue mixed with water. For anyone who is concerned with mold, add a few drops of Tea Tree oil, which won’t let mold grow.

I love this idea and would love to put this on my bedroom windows. Only trouble is my windows slide side to side and I’m not sure it would stay on.

  15. Bobbie Bambi says:

Is this something you think could be obtained from a craft store? I think this would be a good option since my windows slide side to side.

  16. Deb Learn says:

This is beautiful! How do you clean it and would that attract bugs of any kind?

  17. Mary Hixon says:

yes, Bobbie- most any craft store will have the mat medium in paint section -not sure about walmart but they do sell craft paints. it’s way cheaper than the stuff you get in a spray can & the mat medium is temporary. just a type of finish to put on your art work so there’s no shine. water-based & easy to clean up if you want to remove it. once it’s dry it looks like frosted glass. i have a bedroom window that’s been frosted for over 10 years 🙂 i have lightly washed the window with no harm to the “frost” you’d have to go scrubby-dub at it to get it off! to remove it – i just spray with plain Water, stick a paper towel to wet part – & let it sit for 10 minutes then it just wipes off. i remember i used a sponge to put it on so no brush streaks. came out smooth & even.

I would use mod podge decoupage medium instead of the cornstarch. It would hold up much better than corn starch which of course is water soluble. It dries clear and would hold and work much better than corn starch,
