Same kind of idea – we used liquid starch (the blue starch you used to use on shirts, etc) to “glue” sheets to the wall. Especially handy in a rental. Tack the sheet up, apply liquid starch to whole sheet much like wallpaper glue. When you’re ready to move or get tired of the sheet, just pull it off the wall. A quick wash down of the wall and its back to original condition!

  6. Ocamoody says:

Neat idea. I don’t think it will attract bugs when corn is in starch form. If It was in syrup form and with sugar; I would think would attract bugs.

  9. This is sooooo pretty!!!

  10. Pamalla says:

For “male” version, maybe a layer or 2 of “boy” colored tulle?

  11. You can do something like this with fabric to look like wallpaper on your walls. And you can easily tkae it down again with no damage to your walls. Soak the fabric in liquid starch and hang on the wall. When dry it looks like wallpaper.

  18. If you use cornstarch when it gets a little damp like from condensation it can mildew or mold so watch it

  19. This is so pretty and EASY

  20. Ellen says:

Really like the idea, but how do you clean your window or remove when tired of the look. Also couldn’t you use modpodge in place of the cornstarch?

    Works with rice paper, too.

Do you think you could use a plastic like material such as a tablecloth, flannel, etc.??? We live in a camper and have dark tint already on the windows but I want it darker to help better with keepin’ the heat and cool out….to help power bills and give the ac and heater a break during the snowy days….

  25. D Smith says:

the condensation is a no go for our camper…thanks anyway. Allergies…no mildew or mold in here.

  30. Lori Dunbar says:

Thank You!..Matte Medium is a very good idea!

  31. Katherine Stewart says:

If you want to do this for a boy, why can’t you just use toule (netting), not necessarily white either, you could use any color! This looks fun!

  32. you would get the same level of privacy if u just put up the lace or any fabric that filters light in. why do all this work with cornstarch?

  33. Tina Kimes says:

Joann Specht I thought of you for some reason when I seen this. it looks cool.

  39. ooooooooooooooooooo my wheels are turning ……………..I love this idea!!!!

  40. Janie Hazelbaker says:

What about burlap for a boys room? Sure, it’ll come off because it’s only corn starch. The question is… How long will it stay up? I would think condensation would make it come loose.

  41. I’m so glad I don’t live in Hawaii, now.

  42. Maybe a camo tulle for a more masculine window?
