Has anyone tried getting it off the window? Did you use a razor blade and how hard was it to remove?

  12. Why don’t people use blinds, shades or even curtains? I don’t understand the totally uncovered windows and lack of privacy these days?

  13. I wonder how long it stays on?

  14. THe airlock of the window in my kitchen door has popped and made the glass look awful on the inside….I think this will be a much better plan than buying a new door!

  15. Did it wash off easily.

  16. pretty, but cornstarch attracts bugs.

I used clear textured contact paper on my windows. Still cleanable, holds up thru condensation, let’s in the light & keeps peeping eyes out.

How about nylon net for a boy’s room? It comes in lots of colors, and if you used one that wasn’t too dark it might work.

  20. LOL…I thought of that 20 years ago…It is a great idea. My front door had a big window in it,, & wasn’t possible to put a curtain on it, so I put lace in between the panes ….

  21. Wow, wonder how this would look on windows that have lost the gas on double paned windows. Wish I would have kept old storm windows 🙁

  22. Jaye says:

Would this hold up during the winter months?

  23. great idea as long as your windows don’t sweat

  24. Put a small gingham check in a boys room or if it is a baby, pastels.

  25. I suppose for a guys room or something more neutral you could just use colored netting – it is plain with no flowers.

  26. modge podge would probably be a better idea

  27. Veronica says:

How do you seal it so it won’t wash off??

  28. Cool! If you have sweaty windows, you could always try picking up plastic, lace tablecovers, without the fleece backing. Cut to size and apply to wet window glass….just like a window cling.

  29. Sue Danson says:

    cool..Shabby -chick. …

  30. Candy says:

There is a camo fabric that you can see thru. It is kind of like lace but with a camo pattern. This would be great for a boy’s room.

I had two long narrow plain windows on either side of my front door. I wanted something permanent that I could clean. Using spray stencil glue, I glued actual lace material to the window. Rolled it with a wall paper roller to take out any air bubbles. Taped paper around the windows, sprayed over the lace with white paint. After drying you remove the lace and paper. You have the lace imprint on
the glass. Looks like curtains from outside and gives a little privacy on the inside.

  32. Jackie says:

    linen would work

  33. Maybe…except my dogs would lick the windows.

  34. Vicki Tatum says:

We used to mix cornstarch into a bowl of water for washing windows. They would always come out streak free…My grandparents owned a motel, and it came in handy for sure!

  35. common glue an water will do have the same effect. Pretty.

  36. You could use muslin for the boys and when we were kids my mom used this same recipe and stuck sheets to match the bedding on the wall like wall paper!!

  37. Shannon says:

  38. I have seen this years ago…pretty cool!
