This DIY is quick, easy, fun and cheap.  What could be better!?

If you have any windows in your home or apartment where you want the natural light but need a little privacy, this is a truly lovely solution.

Granted, it is a bit feminine but I am wondering how we can use this idea and make it masculine, as well…

  9. I have the lace, and the corn starch, and definitely the windows… but then i started thinking about cleaning it. I think that might be really tricky?

    I had a thought for those asking for a more masculine fix. I remember seeing where people would paint scenes on screens for privacy. Painting any scene you want on cheese cloth then allowed to dry, could be cut & used the same way. I would only say I would use an acrylic that will not run when wet & be sure to place the painted side away from the window to prevent any transfer.

    You can buy frosted contact paper which is much easier and less of a mess. I can see fabric holding on to dust. I wonder what happens when you try to wipe it down?

    even just a plain old generic sheer curtain would work…this is a really great idea. I have neighbors who have that plastic film on their windows that are at street level….something like this would be so much nicer looking.

  23. you can do this with liquid starch, too. that’s a good way to put fabric on your walls.

    We clean our windows with corn starch — not cover them up. Makes a beautiful shine!

    A few years ago I bought some camo netting material in a sporting goods store. It would work GREAT in a Man Cave!!!!

    Maybe some sheer camo fabric for boys .
    Take a trip to a fabric store or a department store that sells fabric and just look around for ides.

    To make it masculine you could use sheer curtains instead of lace.

  41. You can also use modge podge. I did that to a window in my kitchen and pressed fall leaves into it as it dried.

  42. I must do this…. I’ve got 3 windows that I’d like to shield but let in more light!
