i use a MATTE MEDIUM from Art Supply store. paint on any window or door (glass panes) when it’s dry it looks like Frosted Glass. it’s water-based, easy to clean up, easy to remove when you no longer want it covering your window

  5. J. Johnson says:

Just remember that at night and on dark, cloudy days when the light is turned on inside the room people outside can still see inside. It is not vision proof so be careful.

  6. Just remember that this is a decoration and not a substitution for privacy. If you are considering using this in a bathroom or bedroom in particular, at night and dark, cloudy days when you turn on the inside light people outside can still see inside the house. So just consider this and be careful.

  10. Mary D. says:

Would netting in a color to match his room work? Or window clings? I bought some clear plastic window cling material at Lowe’s to do just that. Works very well, but pricey. Been up nearly 2 yesrs. The window in front just looks like that rippled glass. I would do the lace thing in a bedroom window in a minute. Lol

  11. Sharon says:

You can get camo-netting for the hunters in the family or tulle (used in weddings not sure if spelled right) and paint/dye different colors. Think I will try the camo netting.

  12. I have one of those half moon windows and when my neighbors are out on their deck they can see right in. This would be a perfect solution!

  13. This is a cool idea. I am thinking a mesh camo for a boy’s room.

    Maybe burlap??

  15. Then you don’t have to wash windows!

  16. Patti says:

Boys room I would use burlap! It comes in many colors now….

Frosted contract paper for windows works great too. Lets the light in, but you get privacy.

  18. Debbie Heddy Holtgard. Good find.

  19. we could do something like this on your windows…

  20. Vivian says:

white mosquito mesh, works too and doesn’t have a ‘design’ per se

  21. Deb Carson says:

It does not fall off when it gries?

  22. Pretty, but you’ll get weevils eating the starched cloth. And since they’re in the area, your sweaters.

  23. Liza Bagay says:

have done this, looks really good, but when it rain or if it’s too hot, it starts lifting and it does shrink when it dries …

  24. Joann Chester this is Awesome wonder how long it would last & how hard to clean off?

  25. susan says:

  30. you might try a “mesh” type fabric for a boy’s window- or a very thin sheer and add cut outs of boats, planes, basketballs and other sports equipment

  31. For the guys, use camo mesh.

  32. Stacy Ford says:

I’ve seen this before. It’s so cool. I wanna do it maybe in our new house

  33. Cathy Clough says:

    Loose weave burlap

  34. I would think regular netting material would work for a boys room, love the idea

  35. Neat! Being this is plant based, how long does it last and was there any issues with bugs?

  36. 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and paint in on the window..follow with lace, cut and place on window and dry with rag.

  37. Mary Jordan says:

The hardest part is getting the lace cut to the perfect fit :/

  38. I have done the same thing with liquid starch and tissue paper.

  39. Belinda Ache says:

Use bubble wrap instead of lace for more masculine look.
