If you have any windows in your home or apartment where you want the natural light but need a little privacy, this is a truly lovely solution.
Granted, it is a bit feminine but I am wondering how we can use this idea and make it masculine, as well…

This is a very cool Idea. I used to decorate my rented home’s walls this way. The bathroom were colored fish, living room a dainty blue floral.I’m going to do this in my daughters room only use a dark solid so the light doesn’t get in. Thank you for the reminder

Can it be done on a bathroom window or will it come off because of the heat from hot water?
Maybe cheese cloth for a masculine look.
You can also do the same cornstarch method to put fabric up on the walls, like wallpaper, tho it can be removed when you want. Very warm water and a sponge takes it off. A great way to decorate, especially when renting 🙂 Great to make an accent wall 🙂

You can do the same thing using liquid starch
Could you put food coloring in the mix so it wouldn’t be white?
Corn stsrch in water is great for washing windows’ They really shine and stay clean longer.

great idea until your windows sweat when its cold out, then it will turn into a nasty mildewy mess….
If you use cloth or lace on the window or on the wall you can use straight laundry starch ….. if it gets dirty pull it off wash it and put it back on.
Use food color for accent lighting!
Wonder if you spray the lace with liquid cornstarch, let it dry, then cut to size, use the homemade cornstarch mixture to adhere to the window…. you might be able to peel it off to clean it, then paint it back on??
I remember my mother using a ‘window cleaner’ ( before windex) … may have been called Glass Wax ….a thickish liquid .. put it on the window , let it dry and then rub it off… it took the dirt off and polished the window..

When I was growing up, I would watch my mom clean the window panes, too. She use Bon Ami, which was similar to a bar of soap. 🙂

We did that back 90 years ago when there were no spray cans of cleaner. Did a spankin’ clean shiny window–takes all the grease and grime right off. Just brush it on and buff it off.
This might be the answer to making my patio door visible to birds and others? Wonder if you could use thin paper napkins–the way we used to decoupage a single layer of the napkin to ceramic? Hmmmm—might have to give it a try on a small project.

you can buy clear peel and stick paper with muted designs that are not so feminine. i did that in my boys bathroom
