- scissors
- hammer
- small nails
- twine
Directions:
(According to thehappyhousie)
START BY PAINTING THE EDGES OF THE PIECE OF WOOD.
USE YOUR DECOUPAGE MEDIUM TO ATTACH THE SCRAPBOOK PAPER TO THE FACE OF THE WOOD.
USE ANOTHER LAYER OF THE DECOUPAGE MEDIUM ON TOP TO SEAL IT ALL ON.
FOLD SOME CARDSTOCK IN HALF TO CUT OUT A HEART SHAPE. PLACE IT ON YOUR BOARD
ADD NAILS ALL AROUND THE EDGES – ABOUT 1/2 INCH APART.
REMOVE THE TEMPLATE AND TIE THE TWINE (OR STRING) ONTO ONE OF THE NAILS USING A SIMPLE SLIP KNOT.
I WRAPPED MY WAY AROUND THE EDGES OF THE HEART SHAPE FIRST TO CREATE SOME DEFINITION, THEN SIMPLY STARTED CROSSING BACK AND FORTH AND LOOPING THE TWINE AROUND THE NAILS AS I WENT.
The finished product is so cute!
I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t feel truly special receiving a gift like this on Valentine’s Day. It would work for a girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, mom, dad, sibling or friend. To make it even more personal, write a personal note somewhere on the wooden block with the date.
Do you have a special Valentine’s DIY? Please share it!
