There is a Japanese technique of storing ground beef where you roll the beef out in a thin layer in a ziplock freezer bag and then portion it out. The frozen meat is in a thin layer so it defrosts quickly and it can also be easily broken off into single servings.

Stacks better in the freezer and quick thawing time.
I have been doing this for decades in 1# & 1.5# sandwich bags, They stack better in the freezer and thaw quicker when you need it. And, no freezer burn unless bag gets damaged.
