She Smashed This Plate Into Pieces To Make Something Perfect For Her Backyard!

Materials:

According to intimate weddings:

Round non-stick cake pan (even better, a HEART-SHAPED one)
Vaseline
Contact paper
Old plates or saucers
Glass gems
sea glass (optional)
concrete
marine varnish
chicken wire
safety glasses
rubber gloves
dust mask
hammer
bucket
trowel
water

1.  Smash up the plate

2.  Cut out a piece of contact paper to fit perfectly in the bottom of your cake pan.

3.  Put it in the pan sticky-side up and stick your gems, plate pieces, etc. exactly how you want them to appear in the final stone.  Leave a little room in-between eat for the concrete.

4.  Check the design by lifting up the contact paper.  Make any needed adjustments.

5.  Mix concrete and put it in the pan about one inch thick.  Pat down.

6.  Press a square of chicken wire down into the wet concrete, then add a second layer of cement.

7. Let dry for 2 days.

Take it out and remove contact paper.

BEAUTIFUL! One thing this DIYer did learn was to place the plate pieces a little closer together for next time so take a look at how she did it above and do take that into consideration when you make yours.  Trial and error, people!

    thats a beautiful piece, I wouldnt break it into to pieces, Id put it in a plate stand & put in with my china show pieces.
