I couldn’t believe it when I saw how a Wise DIYer constructed her dream bed from West Elm by using a door mat and now I cannot believe that someone else has used the same item to cover up an air vent!
This vent went from being a giant eyesore to blending in with the wall quite nicely, I’d say. What do you think?
She picked a door mat that allowed lots of ventilation and was careful to get it checked out by her HVAC guy, who gave her the go-ahead.
Do you have any other clever solutions for hiding an air vent that needs to be disguised?

Great idea – I would and have taken it a step further and spray painted the vent cover bronze to match her decorative piece.
Usually that type of rubber mat has a smell to it without heat .please be careful.
