The pros at kitchn.com tell us to do the following:
- Cut away any bruises
- Puree the fruit in the blender
- Put it in ice cube trays
- Freeze for later use
You will have these perfect little frozen fruit puree bites. You can use them in so many ways. Here are some ideas:
- Add to smoothies and shakes
- Use them as “ice cubes” for cool cocktails or kid’s drinks
- Let them defrost and put them over ice cream
- Eat them straight out of the freezer for a cool snack
This will work for any berries, any melons, bananas, mangos, pineapples, peaches, nectarines…pretty much anything you have around. If you want to remove the skin of the stone fruits before you puree, you can, but if you have a great blender like a Vitamix, you really don’t have to.
