It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

These Glass Items Get Glammed-Up Two Different Ways!

Glitter Vases

Materials:

  • Jars or Vases
  • Modge Podge
  • Foam Brush
  • Painter’s tape

Directions:

You are doing the basic same technique on both versions although on the first one, the Modge Podge goes on the inside with the foam brush, the glitter gets poured in and rolled about till you have full coverage and the excess gets poured out.

One the second version, you can tape the jar to get a “dipped” effect, cover the jar beneath the tape with Modge Podge and then–working over a covered surface because this will be messy–covering the Modge Podge in glitter and shaking off the excess.  Then removing the tape once it’s dry.

In either case, you can apply more MP and more glitter to fill in any missed spots and in my opinion, it is always a good idea to do a final coat of MP to seal the glitter.  You can also use a clear sealant spray. (Glitter is too pretty to say “no” to, but it is also relentless in it’s quest to get on everything!)

The result is so pretty!

I would do the inside glitter……less mess on the outside to come off. Once glitter gets on something it seems to stick around for every 🙂
