These ORDINARY and UGLY CANS Get a Whimsical Makeover That Is Perfect For Over The Crib!

PAINTED CAN MOBILE

Supplies:

According to allyou:

5 or 6 tin cans in different sizes
Acrylic paint or latex wall paint
Paintbrushes
Painter’s tape
Hammer
Nail
Twine
Scissors
10″-wide embroidery hoop
Hot-glue gun

Directions:

  1. Remove the labels of the empty cans.  Clean and dry them well.
  2. Use two coats of semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to paint the cans one solid color.
  3. Paint geometric shapes on the cans.  (Use painter’s tape for stripes.)
  4. Use a hammer and nail to put a hole into each can.
  5. Cut a 3 foot length of twine an knot through the hole.  Knot it inside the can so that the can rests on the knot. Repeat this will all the cans.
  6. Wrap the embroidery hoop in twine and use hot glue to secure it.  Then tie each can to the hoop.  You can also use hot glue on all the knots to see them secure.

Baby will love this!  You could also make this as a wind chime and hang it outside.  Kind of like this one.  Make them both!  They are adorable as a pair.
