If they could have afforded to buy the whole truck, they certainly would have. But instead, they created something he would love just as much.
Turns out you can buy these vintage tailgates on eBay for a couple hundred dollars.
They did just that. Then built a simple bench frame, filled in the seat and arm rests, stained the whole thing and finally attached the tailgate as the backrest.
Made Grandpa VERY HAPPY!!
