It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

This Dresser Got Makeover You Won’t Believe!

As you can see, she started out with a dresser that was plain jane.  She stripped it bare.

She decided that appliqués would be the right call for this piece.   She picked up the ones she wanted and stained them a darker color to match the tone of the dresser.

After she applied these, she moved on to painting .  She chose a beautiful color called “Rainy Day” by Pratt and Lambert and DRY BRUSHED it on.  Meaning you use a dry brush and wipe it down before you paint.  This leaves some of the base color showing through.

She also sanded it down to get an ever more antiqued and patina look.

Finally, a coat of Miniwax Polycrylic in Satin to protect it and some beautiful new knobs.

GORGEOUS!!

Do you have a dresser that you have refinished?  If not, do you have one that you have seen online that is worth sharing?  We would love to see it.

Thank you to centsationalgirl for posting her creations with such beautiful pics.  You can see more deets on this project on her site.
