I am not a fan of painting and the main reason for that is because I hate the clean-up. Anything that anyone knows about how to make painting quicker, easier and less messy is something I want to know about.
This is a great tip that will show you how to get your paint rollers sparkling clean without getting your hands dirty.
Here is how you do it:
- Go outside on the lawn
- Turn on the hose
- With the roller still on the handle, hold it in front of the hose and spray it so that it starts spinning.
- Keep this up till the roller is perfectly clean of paint.
Sounds too good to be true? Watch!

No no no get your hands a little wet get it clean right
throw them in the trash & put a new 1 on………….
that is the dumbest suggestion ever. You not only waste water, you can kill the grass & possible have it get into the drain system if close enough. But mostly waste water & adding chemicals in to your lawn. Stupid idea.
That’s been my remedy for years lol saves time and $$$$ in my opinion…unless it’s those high cost rollers…but I usually don’t go for those
I do this in the laundry room for yrs
My uncle was a mason, carpenter, painter, for years! This is what he taught me! Typically painting takes more than just 1 day, and usually woking with more than 1 color, (walls, ceilings, trim) Get yourself several zip-lock freezer bags. When you are through for the day, open bag, insert roller (with handle still attached) now hold roller from outside the bag, and pull handle off. Press bag to release air and seal. Your roller will not dry out, and, won’t be full of water from trying to clean! I have done this many times, and used the same roller for a week without having to clean! Use a seperate bag for colors! At the end of project, you decide if you want to clean or toss roller!
and your yard and you look like total$#%&!@*after wards.
I think HE thinks, he’s invented something cool… Lol
