It's WISE to DIY: Thrify Ideas for the Do-It-Yourselfer

This Must-Have Beach Cover-Up Is $7 and No-Sewing!

Materials:

  • 1 yard of jersey fabric (36″x 55″)
  • Hot glue

Directions:

Cut your fabric down to 26″ on the 36″ side.

Use the smaller piece for the braid by cutting it into 5 strips.  (You can also do a 3 strip braid but the 5 strip is cooler and you can learn how to do that here.)

Cut the long braid into 2, 20″ braids and hot glue the ends together.

Glue 6 inches of the braid to the backside of the 26″ side of the fabric.

Repeat on the other side.

Loop the braid around and glue the loose end to the other end of the braid to complete the arm hole.  Repeat on the other side so that you have two braids glued there on the top right and top left corners.  Like so:

You are done!

Then put it on like this:
