It was Christmas time and she didn’t have anywhere to hang the stockings. So her husband took it upon himself to give her a special place right under this window.
He didn’t spend much money. He used cardboard, spray paint and tape. But injected a ton of love!
First a mantle…
Then spray paint…
He used tape to give it the effect of bricks.
When it was fully constructed, he added a garland and lights. It only cost him $15 but I am sure the effect it had on his wife was priceless!
So sweet!! What is the most loving DIY you have ever seen or made yourself?

When we were first married in “63” we bought a cardboard fireplace and put it in our apartment. I think that is cute.
Very Tender Man!
Fabulous!.
I had a cardboard fireplace for years. Bought it at Woolworth or W T Grant and used i for Christmas. Til it gave out.
What a great and thoughtful husband. Been married 16 yrs….the most thought my hubby gives anything is what he wants me to make him for dinner….
I would treasure and save this forever.

I’m sorry, but you don’t sound like you are very happy.
I’m not, by hey, that is life.
My Mother & Father were divorced in the EARLY 60’s. After he was gone my Mother bought one of those cardboard fireplaces, we hung our stockings from it. I LOVED that thing. Wished they had them now.
Now that is soooooo sweet of him!
